Moving Lathrup Village forward with experience, integrity and transparency

Karen L. Miller, Marvin Moore (write-in candidate) and Barbara Kenez are running for Lathrup Village City Council in the November 2, 2021 election. Our decision to run is rooted in our shared love for and appreciation of Lathrup Village and its people. The diversity in perspectives, knowledge, backgrounds and relationships we each bring, as well as our collective experience, are well-suited to ensuring that your City Council is upholding its duty as an elected body to serve you and all of our residents. We will address the issues, challenges and opportunities facing our community with transparency, integrity and your input. We are committed to bringing the focus of City leadership back to our neighbors and making sure your voices are sought and heard.

2021 Lathrup Village City Council Candidates

“As a City Council member, I promise to: listen and be responsive; practice fiscal responsibility; and act as a public servant not a politician. Currently, there is a disconnect between city leadership and residents. Many voices aren’t being heard. I promise to put the control back in your hands. You should be at the table when the decisions are made. You should have a say in how we spend your money. That’s how Democracy works. Check out my Plan for Lathrup Village.”

— Karen L. Miller

“I care about and love Lathrup Village, the place I have called home for over 30 years. I believe that elected representatives are there to serve their constituents – not the other way around. I will listen to the voices of the residents.”

— Marvin Moore

“As a lifelong resident of Lathrup Village and graduate of S-L, my roots are deep and strong. My commitment to Lathrup Village is as fervent as my dedication to service. It would be an honor to serve as a Lathrup Village City Council Member.”

— Barbara Kenez
